Vernon Hills High School
began a new tradition of Winter Fest! With the typical Turnabout style dance numbers declining, the student council decided to radically change the format of their dance. BOOM’s digital media team helped the Vernon Hills High School Student Council plan, produce and market the event in the weeks leading up to the night. By the week of the dance, every single student knew something big was coming. BOOM Entertainment’s elite tech crew created a festival experience inside their high school gym.
Vernon Hills High School Students arrived wearing all black, some casual some formal, but all united by one color. Students lucky enough to win VIP tickets were treated to an exclusive VIP Lounge. Behind the velvet red ropes and stanchions were white leather couches and other furniture for students to relax and watch the crowd comfortably. The VIP lounge was completed with Red velvet drape behind. The student council partnered with several local business and restaurant chains to provide finger food to enjoy around several LED highboys throughout the night. Those students feeling adventurous challenged the Meltdown Inflatable, an 8-person wipe out style interactive inflatable. Across from the Meltdown, sever baggo corn toss games were setup for teams to compete against each other. At the center of it all, the photo booth snapped shots throughout the night. The open-air booth’s backdrop was the constantly changing concert lighting of the main stage, which created unique photo strip printouts.
On the main stage senior, Marc (DJ M3RC) opened the night with some thumping EDM music followed by B96’s DJ Simone. B96’s Emcee Jason Cage hosted the night and could be found taking photos with students in the photo booth and hyping up the crowd from the main stage. The energy created by the entertainers and lighting programmer was unstoppable and DJ M3RC was called back up on stage by popular demand to close out Vernon Hill’s 1st Winter Festival.
